Thursday Challenge; Rare

Deze Thursday Challenge is over; "RARE (week 1 of 2)" (Infrequently Seen, Scarce, Unusual, Uncommon, Exceptional,...)

Gisteren was ik met Melody een dagje in Burger's Zoo. Ik ging weg in de vrieskou met prachtig zicht op de bevroren velden vanuit de trein. Helaas bleek het ook te koud voor de meeste dieren die allemaal lekker binnen zaten. Maar dat mocht de pret niet drukken. En pret hadden we hoewel sommige dieren daar kennelijk anders over dachten. De een na de ander zette het op een geeuwen zodra wij arriveerden. Nu vonden wij ons zelf toch echt niet slaapverwekkend.
De tijgers waren gelukkig wel buiten en 1 van hen kwam op ons afgelopen. Er zit gedeeltelijk glas en gaas om het verblijf en bij het glazen gedeelte legde ik mijn hand tegen het glas. De tijger gaf een grote lik tegen mijn hand en draaide zich om. Net op het moment dat hij even stopte maakte ik deze foto;

Even later in het giraffen verblijf (die ook binnen verbleven ivm de kou) kreeg ik weer een grote lik via het raam. Mijn dag was al goed maar nu helemaal! :)

Jarig!

Mijn allerliefste hondje is vandaag alweer 15! En hoewel ze nog iedere avond haar 'gekke 5 minuten' heeft en door het huis rent met een bal, zie je toch dat haar leeftijd gaat tellen. Ze kan niet meer hele rondes lopen, niet meer naar het bos, dat is te ver voor haar slechte heupen. En ze slaapt meer, maar toch ze is er nog en ze is nog steeds een hele vrolijke blije hond! Dus ik tel mijn zegeningen iedere dag weer! 😊

Thursday Challenge; Joyful

Again a two week Thursday Challenge... what's up with that?
Anyway, this time it's all about; "JOYFUL (week 1 of 2)" (Any scene that is joyful, happy, hopeful,...)


If anything makes me happy and joyful it is my almost 15 year old doggie and Autumn, those two combined and you have a winner!
Here's is a picture of her back in 2008 so she was able to go on long walks back then, not so now. But every day is a blessing to still have her in my life. 💗

Thursday Challenge; Hair

Today's Thursday Challenge is part 2 of a two week challenge but since I had my holliday last week it's my first. It's about;  HAIR (week 2 of 2) (Long, Short, Curly, Wavy, People, Animal, Hair Style Products or Equipment,...)


 We have a lot of toads living in our garden and we have a dog who has long hair. Everyone has dog hair on them, apparently even the toads....

Tiny snail

Last week when it was drizzling outside I looked up from my book to see a brave tiny snail in with a bright orange-brown shell, making its way across one way of the fench to the other. Surely but slowly in the drizzle. I  had to go outside to take some pictures of it of course.

Thursday Challenge; Words

In Spring there are a lot of caterpillar's and sometimes they hang on a thin thread from a tree while I walk the dog. Apparently I had brought one home with me because after walking the dog it fell from my hair onto the book I was reading. Looked like he was a bookworm like I am too! ;) Or an Outlander fan as well. :)

Cows

We buy our meat and farm products at a farmers shop. This farmer is at the outskirts of our town and has a shop, lots of cows and he also makes his own cheeses. You can buy a lot of different things in his shop, such as local products and biological products.
This Saturday the farmer let everone know that the cows were going to go outside again after a long winter. So we went there armed with our camera and we weren't the only ones.

A lot of people came to watch the cows, not sure the cows were all too happy about that though but I'm sure they're used to it

I was just too late when the toads in my garden were together just now (one ran off when I came out with my camera, never knew they could run) so I have to dig into my archive.

If it quacks like a duck...

I'm sorry that I haven't been more on this blog. And yes I'm writing in English now. I have a lot of English readers from Twitter among other things and most of us Dutch can read/speak English so I'm hoping they don't mind the English.

It's been a while but that's due to some personal issues.
I am hoping I can pick it up surely but slowly however.

Not sure about the Thursday challenges though, I'm not taking photos that much anymore. But I will try.

When my mum had her 70 year old birthday my sis and I gave her nearly a dozen day trips to be filled in at her convenience. That's a nice way to take the camera along and make pictures.

The last one was a trip to a town where we used to live as kids (sis and I ) Mum and sis hadn't been there in ages and wanted to see the town again. A lovely old little town it still is.
I will post the photos of the town later but first these photos of ducks: they were following sis around who was feeding them so I could take pictures.

Libelle

Een aantal weken geleden, toen het nog warm en zonnig was, hing de was buiten en landde er een grote Libelle op een wasknijper, de vleugels glanzend in de zon. Hij bleef zitten toen ik aankwam met mijn camera, koppie scheef: wat doe je?
Het gezichtje leek wel dat van een oud mannetje, wijs, nadenkend. Hij keek naar mij terwijl ik hem vastlegde. Wat een mooi beestje!

Itsy bitsy spider

Als de dood ben ik ervoor: Spinnen. Maar omdat mijn Chinese lampionplant er vol mee zit, is het toch wel een mooi gezicht. Zo'n spin op een lampionnetje:
