Ik maak niet zoveel foto's meer jammer genoeg maar zo af en toe neem ik mijn camera nog wel mee, bijvoorbeeld met een dagje weg met zus. Het was de dag dat onze vader eigenlijk 75 geworden zou zijn en zus en ik proberen daar een jaarlijks dagje weg van te maken. Ook al zijn wij niet meer zo katholiek als we opgevoed zijn, togen we naar Kevelaer. Van kapel naar kerk en weer een kapel. Wel erg mooi dat dan weer wel, maar je kunt niet overal foto's maken natuurlijk. Toch een kleine impressie;

Summer Holiday

Well my summer holiday is here at last. The weather is not to bad either, it's much cooler and a bit of rain now and again, which I don't mind at all! Not that I'm going away or anything, just the thought of not having to work for the next two weeks should be relaxing enough. I say should because I always need time to adjust the first few days.
And what do I do on my first day? I have already washed my windows (even though it was supposed to rain) and now I'm sitting at my laptop. I really need to think of what it was I wanted to do... Relax, read loads of books and go away on some daytrips by train. But for now... Just go with the flow...

Thursday Challenge, Leisure

De Thursday Challenge van vandaag is: Vrije Tijd (vakantie, sport, plezier, rust, ontspanning)
"LEISURE" (Vacation, Sports, Fun, Rest, Relaxation,...)

Wij hebben nu nog net een paar dagen vakantie, maandag weer werken en Jongste naar school. We zijn dit jaar niet weggeweest en de dagjes weg die we wilden doen, hebben we niet gedaan. Gewoon lekker veel gelezen, wat gewandeld in het bos en heerlijk uitgerust.
Maar als we op vakantie gaan/zijn wat doen we dan het allerliefst? Dingen bezoeken, en dan vooral interessante historische gebouwen in de omgeving, kerken, die ik thuis nooit bezoek maar gek genoeg in het buitenland wel, en vooral de atmosfeer van zo'n andere omgeving opsnuiven. Vorig jaar in Frankrijk was dat heerlijk in middeleeuwse stadjes en in Schotland of Engeland is dat altijd geweldig.

Hier wat foto's van mijn idee van vakantie hebben, wat ik fijn vind om te doen op vakantie: (behalve veel lezen dan ;-) )

We are having a few days of vacation left, next monday we have to work again and our youngest son has to go to school. We didn't go on holiday this year and the daytrips we would like to make, we didn't. We just stayed at home, read a lot, walked in the woods and relaxed. 
But if we are on holiday what do we like to do the most? To visit things and places, especially historic buildings and things in the environment, churches, which I never visit at home but odly enough always visit when I'm on holiday, and particularly the atmosphere of another environment. Last year in France that was so lovely in medieval towns and in Scotland and England it is always great!

Nuttkracker

Two years ago I was on holiday in Germany, in the Black Forest (Schwarzwald). While walking to a big waterfall we saw lots of birds. Some seemed to be used to so many tourists and just stayed there, waiting for food maybe? I was glad to shoot this lovely picture of a Nuttkracker:
