A day in Amsterdam

Last week we had a week off and went a day to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam. Unfortunattely we weren't allowed to take pictures there (probably because they wanted to sell books, in any other museum you may take photos). There also was a exhibition of some of Munch's works. It was a lovely autumn day and we were there early which was a good thing since it was very crowded when we left.
We also went to the Vondelpark which was gorgeous with all the beautiful autumn colours.

Thursday Challenge; Orange

This week's Thursay Challenge is all about; ORANGE (Fruit, Vegetables, Flowers, Signs, Clothing, Vehicles,...)

The lion is the symbol of the Netherlands. It's also the symbol of our Dutch football team. Orange is the last name of our King 'of Orange Nassau' so we use an orange lion as a symbol a lot, especially for football. This particular lion is from a few years ago when the Netherlands were a 'bit' more succesful. Now that they're not going through to the EK it's an economical disaster for a lot of businesses.

We don't have one anymore and I don't have a drivers licence, I don't have much with cars... But I do have some photos in my archive from holidays when my kids asked me to take a picture of a 'cool' car... ;)

A day at the sea

It was a long time since I had been at the seaside. When we went to the Dutch coast last week it was a windy day with lots of clouds, just the way I like it. It had been a warm couple of days so the water was just right for just paddling. Which I did of course! I now know I never want to wait that long again. We live a long drive away from the sea but I loved it!
